Portland Wedding Photographer } Bridal Beauty

A couple months ago I had the opportunity of attending a beach workshop with some colleagues of mine.  Kelly, from Capture Photography was sweet enough to pose for us as a vintage bride.  We had no idea at the time that our blushing bride model would be engaged before the year was out!  Both stunning and photogenic, Kelly will make a beautiful bride at her upcoming nuptials this season!  Congratulations Kelly!

Taylor really wanted her senior portraits to feature some antique bicycles.  While we didn’t find bikes, we did find some really charming antiques that brought a lot of contrast to this shoot!  We tucked into old chicken coops, and searched old sheds to create some really moody images.  Taylor was flawless and totally up for my crazy ideas, the perfect model in every way.  She even made friends with a farm cat, which was a magical photographic dream come true for me!  Thanks Taylor!

Editorial Style Senior Portraits } The face of an angel

This whole session I just could not get enough of this angel face!  At one moment Dominique’s mother expressed to me the joy her daughter has brought to her, how she is the perfect child.  Glimpses of this girls tender personality have charmed every encounter I have had with her.  She is filled with generosity and kindness.  Dominique is a French name, it means, with God.  For this girl, a name most fitting.

Editorial Style Senior Portraits } A Rose by another name

The Washington Park Rose Gardens were the ideal location for Eunice’s senior portraits.  Primarily because Eunice and the rose possess very similar qualities.  They are both delicate, sweet, and completely charming.

I can’t say enough about this girl, mostly because she’s my sister!  She’s a senior this year and it makes me feel old!  More than beautiful, she has the most fun loving presence and personality.  It was fun for me to interpret everything I adore about my baby sister into these images.  She was totally workin’ the crazy wind and that awesome pink cowgirl hat!

Editorial Style Senior Portraits } Energy

Courtney and I ventured down to the water front for her photo-shoot.  I was thrilled by the energy of the city and by the way it complimented her personality.  A humble beauty, Courtney is full of life and adventure.  While she feels more comfortable in jeans and a T-shirt, she is still stunning in a dress.  Put simply, Courtney is a classic.

Editorial Style Senior Portraits } home

It was a pleasure meeting Anna.  You can tell by looking at her that she is beautiful inside and out, she has a special warmth and infectious happiness.  Of course, I knew in advance that our sentimental souls could be sisters based simply on her desire to have her senior pictures taken in the home she grew up in!  And what a beautiful home it is, too.  Idyllic for childhood with a sunlit playroom and a cozy garden yard backing up to a Never-land forest.  It was the perfect backdrop to capture this chapter of her life.

Editorial Style Senior Portraits } Sisters

If you noticed similarities between the stunning models in my last two posts, GOLD STAR,  you are a genius!  Turns out this darling duo before you are twins.  Like everything in life, they do it together!  And senior portraits were no exception.  It was fun for me to see that though the same, they are extremely different.  Both girls had very specific, and contrasting visions about this whole process and I was tickled to fulfill them both.  I’ve always been in awe at twins, the relationship is so unique and unlike any most of us experience in life.  There is a familiar bond in sisterhood, I only expect it is even more powerful with a twin.  The Lord has truly blessed these two with the gift of one another, which I know they will continue to enjoy for the rest of their bright futures.

Editorial Style Senior Portraits } Dorothy’s Balloons

Dorothy is the name of a much beloved character in the Wizard of Oz.  If you are familiar with the tale you know that the hot air balloon ride with the professor never panned out.  Enter ruby slippers.  Anyway, whether the balloons or the setting, the whimsy and drama of this session wrapped me up in my tender feelings for Dorothy.  Thus, the title!  Rachel added a touch of theater and poise to every expression and pose.  She was so much fun and committed to making these images her own.  She wanted to see her personality, which she described as Natural. Quirky. Dramatic. Whimsical.  This became my mantra for a pleasant evening photoshoot in the forest.  And while there was no yellow brick road, we did happen upon some rather charming cobblestone.

There’s no place like home.

Editorial Style Senior Portraits } Country Girl

Something about this photoshoot makes we want to blast my favorite Taylor Swift songs and bask in the memories of my youth!  This girl conveyed her personality so well in front of the camera.  All of her expressions are indicative of who she is, independent yet vulnerable, sweet, stunning, and just a little bit quirky!  I loved the little details we pulled into this session.  Her T-shirt, and her toe nails were her favorite color; a soft shade of orange dreamsicle.  The ruffle on her skirt in the wind, a perfect  reflection of a  modern Marilyn Monroe.  The playful fringe on the scarf her mom picked out, wrapped in the golden tones of her hair all charmed me to pieces.
